Chamber Board
- Purpose: Provides oversight, strategic direction, and leadership for the Chamber’s long-term stability, integrity, programs, and services.
- Term: Directors are elected to three-year terms, serving from November 1 through October 30 of the third year. Directors may also be elected to serve a second term.
Commerce Enhancement
- Purpose: Serves as the Chamber’s 501(c)(3) arm, helping facilitate monetary distributions to charitable, religious, educational, scientific, and community enhancement organizations that do not qualify as tax-exempt under the Internal Revenue Code.
- Key initiatives: Oversees the Chamber’s scholarship program, supports Farmers Feeding Families, and has supported the Shelby County Educational Foundation during its organizational launch.
Education Committee
- Purpose: Supports educational opportunities throughout Shelby County, from elementary and secondary education to community outreach.
- Key initiatives: Junior Chamber of Commerce, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) partnerships, Shelby County Young Leaders oversight, work-based learning initiatives, and the Chamber scholarship program.
Marketing & Events Committee
- Purpose: Supports the planning and implementation of major Chamber events.
- Key initiatives: Helps bring signature events to life, including the Community Showcase, Stakeholders Luncheon, Golf Scramble, Awards Luncheon, and more.
Membership Committee
- Purpose: Recruits, welcomes, and connects new members to the Chamber community.
- Key initiatives: Provides personal outreach to new businesses and Chamber members and hosts a quarterly New Member Kickoff.
Young Professionals of Shelby County
- Purpose: Builds a strong business network for local young leaders connected through the Chamber.
- Key initiatives: Hosts quarterly community events focused on engagement, connection, and recruitment.
